I seriously doubt Sony staged it. The blackout in N. Korea was real. And you can bet Sony didn't accomplish it with a gun-for-hire. The CIA almost certainly launched the counter.

As for Franco, I'll watch anything he makes. Heck, after Pineapple Express, how bad can it get?

I saw him live in Of Mice and Men in NYC this summer. He was good enough in it, but not worth going into NYC again. It was nice to see him in a more subdued performance. I think he tends to accept vehicles that ask him to do more garish Jim Carrey or Robin Williams type performances, which I don't enjoy.
