Hello! At the end of April, I'm traveling to Europe solo. I've never traveled to another country by myself. Was hoping to meet some locals along the way. I'll be going to London, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Anyone live in or near those cities who would like to meet up? Or can give any advice about the cities and traveling solo? The sightseeing will be fine, it's the eating experience im a little nervous about but im sure once I do it I'll be fine. Thank you! :-)

The first time I went on a holiday on my own I was most concerned about the eating part too, but it turned out to actually be pretty awesome! I went to a restaurant that had a waiting time of 45 minutes, but when they asked for my name I saw them write 'VIP' behind it and I got a table within 10 minutes :') no idea what they were thinking but you won't hear me complain haha. Maybe just take a book or magazine with you or use the time to write down everything you've experienced or to make new plans.
I am from the Netherlands and have been to Amsterdam loads of times, its my favourite city in the world so if you have any questions I'm right here (; although I probably won't be in the country by the time you're there.

I couldn't stop myself from giving some recommendations when it comes to Amsterdam, haha (:
What I like most about the city is that it has something for everyone really. If you're interested in art, go to the Rijksmuseum, it has all the big and famous pieces under which the Nightwatch. It gets really busy there though, but if you go early in the morning or late in the afternoon it will be perfectly fine. There is also a 'Van Gogh' museum right next to the Rijksmuseum, but I've never been there before.
If you're interested in history and ships, there is a museum about the Dutch VOC in their golden age. They rebuilt an actual VOC ship and you can get into it and see what everything was like. The museum is called 'scheepvaartsmuseum'.
If you're in Amsterdam for the whole gay scene, go to the Reguliersdwarsstraat, which is known to be the gay friendliest play of the county (which says a lot as you'll see rainbow flags all over the city). There's loads of bars and clubs there and not a lot of people know this but in a club called SoHo there is a toilet lady that used to be the hairdresser of the queen (; The gay bars at the Zeedijk are more known to be for the seniors, looking at your age the Reguliersdwarsstraat will be more interesting.
Then there are all the obvious sight seeing attractions you've probably planned already like the red light district and all that, I just thought these 3 might be good to know about as (except for the rijksmuseum) not many tourists know about them.

In London you'll find cuisine from every conceivable country of the world from the ubiquitous Chinese and Indian to just about any of the more exotic. You're not obliged to kill yourself with MacDonalds etc. Just use Google to search in the area you're in.
