Recent Depressing Scribbles

Yeah, so i've basically had a bit of a creative drought recently, and was kinda hoping if someone could tell me whether what i HAVE drummed up is any good?? I just don't seem to have the same spark i did even a coupla moths ago...

Loving You

You're the cinnamon to my raisins
in this sweet bread I can't prepare.
You get your ingredients form elsewhere,
a better recipe, perhaps.

Still i'm content to knead on and on
and on, folding, caressing. Daydreaming.
Eventually it'll be right, shapely, ready
and into the oven it'll go.

Strange, then, that it won't preheat properly,
as though the kicthen is cooking me.
I carve myself with the wrong utensils and stew
in my own juices and stationery, spin. Like rotisserie.

This, what i make, is out of reach.
Not quite a cake, a deserted dessert, just.

The creative process is odd. Sometimes it visits and won't leave you alone. Other times you are left to struggle on by yourself. All you have to work with at those times are technique and persistance.

I always carry a music manuscript book and a little notebook around with me. I can be hit with snatches of melody at peculiar times or, as has happened more recently, an odd line of words will strike me as interesting. That way, I always have some material to work on, even when the muse is absent.

I particularly like the way you twisted your poem to take me somewhere unexpected by the end.
