Some people might want the variety, but you'd want to remember which ones are hotter. You could get different shapes/styles to help you remember (like votives for hot and tapers for less hot).

The cheap white emergency/utility candles tend to be among the coolest. All sorts of stores have those. I think they're similar to Sabbath candles.

It's a good idea for the person getting waxed to wear a blindfold.
