My 2 ex-tom cats are chatter boxes like the ones they are describing in the article. They do everything from tattle on the dogs for being on the furniture to escorting me to the bathroom every morning in the dark in case I've forgotten overnight where it is.

...and to those who insist that dogs are smarter...while the dog is out sniffing for bombs...the cat is lying on cushions nibbling treats while enjoying a full body massage...WHO'S the smart one here...? Catmilk

Virge! You're back! Where have you been? Are you happily married now? Glad to see that you've taken your finger out of your nose!

Thanks, Borg. That's not what Nancy Grace said about it when she showed it on TV.

I'm always trying to decipher my cats' behavior. I may or may not meow back at them...

This is kind of kitty 101.....

Our 4 cats all are very, very vocal and have an excellent vocabulary...each cat is unique in their speech and intonation..I'm not buying that there are only 16 sounds a cat makes.

With our latest cat....he was so vocal for the first 4 months after we brought him in that feeding him was referred to as 'giving him a plate of shut-the-fuck-up'.

how to wash a cat

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl...
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. At this point the cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this !
5. After 5 minutes of agitation, flush the toilet three or four times. This provides the 'Power-Rinse' cycle.
6. Clear a path to the open front door.
7. Stand well back, behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where she will dry herself off.
9. Both the toilet and the cat will be sparkling clean.

P.S. I'm hyper allergic to cats...
