I was introduced to Quincy Jones through one of my older brothers. He used to play his albums, Body Heat, Sounds...and Stuff Like That until the grooves wore out. Then he preceded that one with the Dude...Every time after discovering him...every CD he released thereafer (Back on the Block, Q's Jook Joint) each one was so good that I often wondered if he could top that one. So...I am a huge fan of his.

Continuing...here is so much jazz music this could go on forever....

One of the brightest and best...Ramsey Lewis

Ramsey Lewis Trio - The In Crowd

One of my favorites today...Diane Schuur...my friend who is a jazz pianist got to open for her in Monterey some years ago...she is blind.....
This is also the first time me and my BF bought a CD together..this CD...so it is kinda cool because I have a massive music collection and it was the moment when I "let him in" LOL Also..this song always makes me horny...in large part because it reminds me of what we did after we got home and listened to it..over and over

Diane Schuur - Louisiana Sunday Afternoon

Back in the 1970s...we had this great music show...The Midnight Speical...and they had a lot of jazz musicians as well as rock and R&B artists ....loved it...and Weather Report was hot at the time and had done a successful crossover....they still play at festivals...

Weather Repot - Birdland

...and speaking of Weather Report...Jaco Pastorius (of Weather Report) is here with Pat Methany, Michael Brecker and Joni Mitchell in Shadows and Light...it is long...but really GREAT concert!

Shadows and Light - Joni Mitchel, Pat Methany, Jaco Pastorius and Michael Brecker......

LOVE Wynton Marsalis...AND Eric Clapton...separately or together....

LAYLA

Corrine, Corrina

...and Claptons original retake of Layla with the blues/jazz vibe....I like the original a lot too...almost like they were two different songs but I like both of them

Hey East...First and foremost..let me just say again that you have impeccable taste in Jazz music....I remember that Ramsey Lewis song "The In Crowd" because when I was a little boy...my mom used to play it a lot around the house. As I got older...I do have several of his CDs in my collection as well. In regard to Diane Schurr...(not sure if I'm spelling the name correctly)...but I love her music and have several of her CDs as well...I also have a duet CD that she recorded with B.B. King and I have this compilation CD with various artists entitled "The Garfield Movie: Am I Cool or What?" which I used to play all the time and she has a song on there called "Next To You, I'm Even Better"...LOVE THIS SONG!!!...its really sexy and bluesy jazz with her scatting a little during the instrumental break like Ella...check it out if you get the chance...and you are right..this post can go on for days...and if I say so myself...I can introduce/recommend you to so many awesome artists that you may not be familiar with that I know you will really love...but that's a whole 'other story...lol..lol..thanks again..for sharing...JS

I used to want to have sex with this guy so bad.....

I never get tired of him.....I still love this guy....something really sexy about him to me...

...and his music...ahhhhhhhh......

Linda Creed had cancer very young...she was a fantastic song writer...and before she died...she wrote this for George...and he sings it beautifully...and then that damn Whitney Houston had to go and ruin it....George was the original artist and recorded this 10 years prior to Houston

George doing Take Five...

Breezin'

Turn Your Love Around

Love x Love

Love Ballad (Love him doing this live)

with Jill Scott

...and my wet dream..George w/Ray Charles and Chaka Khan...Chaka was a bit off..but I forgive her anything...

I LOVE George Benson...have a lot of his CDs as well...I am also a big fan of the Brothers Johnson...my older brother turned me on to them. My first BF turned me on to the jazzy disco hits that you've mentioned...Dr. Buzzard, Roy Ayers...etc. He used to pull out this 12 Inch Compilation Box Set of Disco Music and it had all of these songs and more on it...after we broke up...I went out and purchased this compilation also. Love your choices...awesome...JS
