The Magic Of Gay Love
#1
Ok, so now that our every Internet move is watched and spied by every single site and app, well, this is the sort of stuff I see come up on my screen. Little do they know that I might watch it or even be interested. However, here's a series of nice pictures and pompous music to celebrate being gay, so I'm sharing. Some of it might also just be about strong male friendships or bonds... I don't know : I haven't seen all the productions this is a mix of. Apparently it's All About Strength. In any case there's a lot of guys kissing, and / or getting (semi) naked (come on, it's Youtube, you don't really expect to see it all, do you?) I can tell you that.

There seems to be this....'Concept' (put forth, I believe, in part by the media) that a frightening number of gay, bi, and queer men seem to have embraced. From my personal observations and my opinion, it portrays love between men as some kind of syrupy, mutant-romance-novel characters from a Harlequin Romance.

Were I, through some other kind of literary magic, able to give it a physical body and breath in to it 'Life', I would do so.

Just so I could then beat it vigorously with a stick until I was exhausted and it was quite, quite DEAD. Then....I would pour copious amounts of petrol on and around it and set it ablaze.

Happy Tuesday!

Well, Beaux, you're probably right. There's this silly concept that homosexual love (or any love, for that matter) is syrupy and should be Disneyfied (but then, isn't that why we need porn???) , and slightly silly. I'm not sure that concept is altogether the same everywhere or whether it's just that particular poster's vision of what it should be like (maybe that's what appeals to him... or her?)

It's somewhat like that version of manga (Yaoi, is it?) that seems to appeal to women when two men (youngish) are supposed to fall in love with one another. It keeps them fed on what they probably don't get from real men in real life.

Either way, I'm not averse to a little romance, and sometimes these videos, despite their total lack of sex connotations, can be quite sweet. I've no doubt that behind closed doors .... ahem... the whip is cracking, and the fisting serene (Did I say 'serene'? maybe I meant 'supreme'???)

Note that most of the reel footage from these videos is from Daytime romances (aka soaps), where nudity is almost taboo. So no, it doesn't reflect real life. It's made 'clean' to be aired before the watershed.
