LONDONERTunisia and Greece
#1
Two disparate countries but who would go there on vacation now? Both countries depend on tourism as their major source of income. Not many will go to Tunisia after what has happened and in Greece it is virtually impossible to get money from an ATM. The British Government is advising people going to Greece to take plenty of cash with them. That's going to lay tourist open to robbery. Knowing that tourists are carrying large amounts of cash on them will make them prime targets.

Have always wanted to travel but could never afford it. If you guys were going to travel in the UK and do it cheaply, how would you go about it? I am more interested in the countryside, in a way, than the cities.

First to do is join The Royal Oak Foundation as that will Free admission to properties of the National Trust and National Trust for Scotland, I think you can use it in the US as well.

The UK has some great places to visist and some not so great like Stonehenge (grrrrrr), dont bother going there trust me waste of time as you cant get close to the stone, but I work at the Avebury another stone circle about 12miles north of Stonehenge (grrrrrr) that you can touch and walk around for free Stonehenge (grrrrrr) costs alot of money and queuing for nothing.

Wiltshire and the South West is the best place to start even the cities arent that big like Bath, Salisbury and well it is big Bristol but its a really nice city even an okay (gay) night life etc.

The UK isnt that cheap though, renting a car here can cost abit too.

Accommodation can be found for cheap like YHA hostels but they get booked up fast.

Hope that is some help.

Thanks for the sites to dream from artyboy. I am beginning to understand why my grandfather, who was indeed a world traveler, had a box of road maps beside his chair and used to "go on trips" from his living room.
