David's Poetry
#51
Humanity; Having now replicated the ruins of Babylon's tears,
The days are dreams within dreams, seconds are now years,
Save the brimstone for the afterlife we've invented, our fears...

One man's destitution is another's hollowed-out heartspace,
And now there's more than one definition of the term "race",
No Man's land is without the machines so out of their place...

We might as well just worship the dust we tear limb from limb,
To save ourselves from returning to it ashamed, return to him,
Who that is, is No Man's choice or repression to place at whim...

I will be your master and your slave tonight...

Come to me, my protruding flesh beckons to the eye,
A world to act as a feast to the senses, to feed the lie,
Allow me to demonstrate my puppetmastery nigh...

Numb you are, you cannot see the palette of my monstrosity,
The taste of your eyes searcing my body for all your curiousity,
Bleed, my child, need, and open yourself up for my offspring...

Oh God of yourself, you think we dine together, but I force-feed you,
Satisfy my lust through yours, despite your heart broken in two,
Taste pride in your mouth, my weapon of choice that you once knew...

See now, the entertainer of this world, he, I, we come and go,
The black circus that is my private Hell, that you will soon know,
The morning, the mourning, it comes swift, doesn't it just though?

The apple of your eye, a clean cut, its surface now rotten,
A beautiful lie, a fallen freakshow so avariciously besotten,
And you have wasted even the refund that you have never gotten.

Humble opinions are understated in their use's definitions,
A lifetime? Comin' right up, don't expect the right change,
Side effects may include sudden realizations of thin lines...

...I'm calling from Lanzarote, hoping that you're real.

Abstract imagery and spoken word styles make for this "me",
I'm trying to make myself sound like I know what I'm on about,
Philosophy is one medium in many to make you feel very down...

...I'm calling from Lanzarote, hoping that you're real.

If you think this poem is about you, well, why not think again?
You and your wrongs, me and my would-be rights if not for you,
I have grown weary of forgiveness lately, it's too "normal"...

...I'm calling from Lanzarote, hoping that you're real.

It is then, of course, when he turns about to notice me, and I him.

Wow, now I can remember beauty like this, yes, it was in my head,
You didn't get here by yourself, why, I simply had to have dreamed you,
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, but you used to be non-existent.

Hey now, come on, don't be so quick to leave when you don't want to,
You didn't get here by yourself, but you're on no one's terms but mine,
I'm trying to make it romantic by believing in non-you's and my "heart".

Sugar, when are you gonna come? Yes, I called you sugar, in my head,
I could never belong to such beauty in reality, I'm going to stop now,
The time has come for your mind to wander to someone else, that's okay.

I'll wait here, addiced to notions of some familiar, some other.

"-Mommy?!

David... David...-"

Dead bird on the side of the road says I should commit suicide,
Dead bird in the middle of the road says I should save myself,
Dead bird in my hands says I should stop, and turn back...

"-You have been searching for me, haven't you David?

...My, whole life...-"

The trees say that they will no longer shelter me from harm,
The stones say that they will no longer carry me forward,
The waters say that they will no longer sustain this living...

"-And what, after all this time have you come to ask me?

I have a wish to make.-"

I found Turns About a bit chaotic...

My fav author, the only one I really understand deeply, is William S. Burroughs. Maybe that explains why I understand Interpretation a bit more... reminds me of his work a bit...
