Virge Wrote:Hello? Earth to East? You are just finding this out? Some time this winter my hero man and I will be coming your way to find new buyers for the junk I'm been selling. You better be ready to give me at least twelve square feet of glass case display and brush up on antiques in terms going back to Mesozoic era circa 250 million years or more. Then there's the other merchandise you can't refuse to to handle or I'll go down the street and find someone else wiling to gamble on selling rocks and pioneer curios plus leather goods and more.

Easy 70% of our route sales customers in 14 states are gay owned businesses. September 6th to 19th Jaybird and I are going to meet as many of them as we can and crash at their homes. ... starting off in in Baltimore and ending up in Pensacola before we head back home. All that I need to know is if if your municipality requires me to have a license to operate there. If they do, you better be ready to get some jacked up prices.

LOL...you can come visit...but my glass cases...I have a waiting list of 277 people years ago...eventually tore it up..now I am up to 58 on the list again...even after I try to dissuade each one before putting them on it that I will probably never have space.. My problem..no one ever moves out. I am the only store I know of that has never had a "SPACE AVAILABLE" sign on my door....

I do, however, know petty much everyone in the business on some level and know where you can sell most everything. I am starting to promote shows this next year....working on one now....

Camfer Wrote:One time I gave the answer that the place to meet guys was Gamestop. Then when that wasn't accepted I said at the gas station. The response was the same: "I couldn't possibly meet someone at a gas station." I kept trying to come up with the most mundane places that people go. Eventually when people don't get it I just say everywhere. You meet people everywhere. But people don't listen.

I wrote a similar response once...I think on JUB...and listed almost everywhere one would visit daily as "THE" place to meet men...

I was serious...

I know a lot of people just want to complain about "men" and I am aware that most of it falls on deaf ears with that mindset.... but I hope that someone else that is reading can benefit ...or maybe unlock something if they are stuck.....so I put out some positive reinforcement for that reason...

It seems a shame to me that anyone who wants to would miss out on the privilege of loving...or just having incredible sex... with other men....

As do I, East. I am waiting for some cooler weather to make his chowder recipe. Hope I can find it in my files.

I won't disagree that you can meet guys anywhere. It is just how to do it that foils me. Some people have a natural gift of approach that seems to have passed me by. I can say hi and sometimes make a little small talk, but have trouble getting beyond that. suggestions welcome. I guess another way of asking is, '"How do you close the sale?"

It is also possible that due to my repressed background, I just can't project a wanting vibe.

IF you want to meet men...

GET OFF THE COMPUTER...

...and go to an Antique Show!

Hey East, I agree with the antique fair. Brian and I went to the Alameda point antique fair last Sunday and there was more eye candy walking around than on the tables! By the way , I think I saw you there but I didn't want to say anything just in case it was not you. Anyway I had a great time there and always do!
I can EXPLAIN it to you but I can't UNDERSTAND it for you

I will be in Benicia this Saturday at the Show...and San Juan Bautista this Sunday at their annual show..long weekend again....

If you ever see me...stop by and say HI!...My name is Bruce BTW

...and yeah...LOTS of incredibly sexy men...all types in one place at one time. The same happened on Saturday...the day before...at the antique show in Downtown Martinez...which is where I had my EUREKA moment. I was in this store...and kinda shoved in this small space...and had a series of guys one after the other act really sweet and friendly and a few of them kinda flirty and it occurred to me how easy it is to meet guys at these places.....

I have always known I guess.,..but I am happily partnered and haven't been looking for any guys..but if I was...I know where I would go....

Hmmm...I might be on the wrong track...but my first thought when reading this is that you should just not worry about closing the sale...and concentrate on being there in the moment and enjoying the conversation for what it is...don't think about anything other than the moment you are in...and let things unfold naturally...

If you retreat into your head...it will probably cause anxiety and maybe even cause you to clam up...and then you will deprive the other guy of getting to know you...as a friend..or maybe even more....

...and you never want to project a wanting vibe...more of a friendly no strings vibe..eh?

If you were closer to me..I would take you out and show you in person and it would be easier for me to see what was happening....so this is just my guess....

That's easy for you to say, East. You weren't raised a Presbyterian.

Nah..my parents both hated religion. They considered it a tool used to control the masses...and mass delusion...and they were right...but that isn't the entire truth IMO....

I do believe in God..but I got to do it the good way..no one told me what to think or feel..so the God I believe in is beautiful...and very loving and kind....none of that stoning anyone business...and no sin...I quite like my God Smile In my opinion..God is to be felt and experienced...not something that resides in my brain with a bunch of judgement and rules.
