Those are inspiring and encouraging videos, and a reminder that we shouldn't give up or underestimate kids and teenagers.

What I've come to understand from working with kids is that they just dont always know how to express themselves, which can be frustrating, and then lead to behavioral and other problems. The role of the arts, in all of their forms, is to create a platform for human expression. So its such a tragedy that these things are being removed from schools and being made less and less accessible.

This reminds me of a quote from Stephen Jay Gould that really stuck with me:
“I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.”
