I had a curious experience last night. After band practice I went to our local gay pub. When I arrived the place was uncharacteristically busy (or as someone helpfully pointed out to me, "It's full of twlve-year-old lesbians tonight" :eek: ). A young man I didn't know was standing by the bar and as I approached to order my usual soft drink he held out his hand to shake mine and say, "Hello, my name's Kieran ... but I'm straight."

It is a pre-emptive tactic, I suppose ... had you thought of trying it?

Actually I was working at this place, was a bit posh let me tell you, so I made an effort you know, kinda polished up my elocution a bit and just general persona really so as to appear less street. So that might not have helped. Still look girly tho so not much I can do there. It's not that I am not flattered by the attention, but if I had just as many birds after me as blokes, I'd be laughing.
