What are your insecurities, and how are you dealing with it?

I wanted to quote this earlier but I was on my iphone and the best I can do is hit the thanks button ....

This is a brilliant insight and it will serve you well with any situation in life. If you are completely honest about something/anything..and getting to that point can be tough..it will free you (yeah..I know..the truth will set you free..and it will)...

It took me a long time to learn that. I would have liked to learn it alot sooner....

Along the same lines.. relatively recently..in the past couple of years...I learned to turn around and face and embrace the chaos instead of trying to outrun it..and it actually makes it all fade. I still haven't figured out the definitive reason why....but I have a good idea so far...

I am happy for you...

Mr Northlad?
I think it's time you do a thread and sort this stuff...

I see your posts. .
You cry out. .
But you're not asking for help.
You have quite a few of us concerned. ..

If you're interested you may message me at any time just to vent or talk about stuff..

If that idea seems awful ..
Maybe you are not familiar with me or maybe you just think I'm a chocolate train wreck. . Who knows..

Pleeezzee .. reach out to someone.

I'm not wearing a belt!

I don't like reaching out much, i know my issues have to be sorted by me and me only. I know i can't so i know they wont be sorted. I have to accept reality and maybe i should try and practise my mindfulness more that i get shown in group therapy, its just so hard to do.

I appreciate your offer and if im ever in need i now know there are many people on here who are decent and willing to offer a shoulder,

Thankyou !

I appreciate your reply. .
At the end of the day we have to carry our own weight and stand on our own two feet..

Reaching out to another caring individual can give you insight,.. it can help to change the perspective of how you see things..

The very first time I confided in a close gay friend I was about 23..
After talking to him I said to myself..
Why didn't I do this sooner.
On the other hand he was so hurt that I carried so many burdens without ever talking to him..

I respect your independence..

Why do I keep getting moderated?!
My insecurities are that I'm a black man in America that's almost exclusively attracted to white guys. It's like a triple negative.

Risks Vs Rewards ..

You've opened my mind a great deal..
I've never thought about it too much..Taking risks will initially take a toll on your insecurities. .
I've always labeled it abruptly as just anxiety, ..

I learned an amazing lesson from this post.
Actually you summed things up and helped me realize a few things in the process. Thank you. As I have either laughed or learned from so many of your posts on this board, I appreciate your time and insight.

East, you always offer a perspective that makes me think a shade differently from where I started. I need to really think about what you said here. Thank you for taking the time to offer me support and insight.

This last year may have been my most difficult one for me because it involved growing up more than ever before. Considering how much responsibility I have at my job with no problems making decisions there on a daily basis, I seem to be the opposite in my personal life. I come from a big, loving, nurturing family and I think I have always depended on them to help me make choices about the big and small things in my life. I bought a house this year and realized that I often trusted the opinions of others more than my own. I would take my parents, siblings, grandparents and friends with me too look at houses. If I found one that really appealed to me and someone else was not so hot on it, I started to second guess myself. I learned a lot about myself going through the process and I can say I am better today then a year ago, I still have a long way to go in trusting my personal decision making. Insecurity sucks but it's part of life for all of us in one way or another and gaining victory over it, even if partially, feels good.
