Okay, I'm going to open myself up to potential ridicule and embarrassment with this topic but that's the way it is.
Background: Anybody who's read much of my topics/posts knows I'm kind of a shy person with my partner. This is definitely the case when it comes to talking about sex. A few weeks ago I finally got up the courage to talk to him about my fantasies and desires. During the conversation I brought up the topic of role play to act out my fantasies. I thought he would die laughing or be a little freaked out, but he was totally for it. So we glossed over the idea of him dressing up. He's pretty busy in his regular day so the one whose job it became to find where to buy the stuff came back to me, which is fine with me as it was my idea in the first place.
Why I bothered to start a topic: So now I'm looking where to buy the stuff. This apparently is a good time to do so, given the Halloween holiday (good discounts the day after I imagine). But I'm noticing a lot of the Halloween costume sets are pretty cheaply made (as in, not very convincing). Granted we don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on things but we don't mind paying a little more to get something that won't tear on the first wear/fall apart because it's cheap plastic.
In terms of what I'm looking for it's nothing too special/out of the ordinary (I'm very vanilla in my fantasies, sorry). Cops, firemen, all those made-for-porn-movie-scenario type jobs. I've done a little looking around on Google and Amazon but there's a lot of things to choose from and a lot to sort out the quality from the junk. I was thinking it might be a good idea to invest in "regular" clothes and buy accessories separate (badges and the like) but I don't know. I'm all new to this and was wondering if anyone with experience or just general knowledge had a better idea on what to do than I do. Thanks for the help.
