I was in the Navy for 20 years,,, and did quite a bit of traveling. My favorite country to visit was the Philippines (where I met my husband). Monaco was a place I enjoyed going to because I got to see some really exotic cars, which seemed to be parked everywhere!!! I remember this one time when I was in a little bar and bought a drink for this young fella who had his leg in a cast. He ended up taking me all over Monaco showing me the sites and bought me dinner and then took me to the Monte Carlo Casino for drinks. All I did was buy him a drink, and I made a friend.

Every country I visited was enjoyable. I discovered that the Pizza in France was just like the Pizza at home, and the Pizza in Italy seemed to have olive oil poured over it sometimes, which caught me off guard, but tasted good anyway.

Everywhere I went, people were nice to me - if I was nice to them. Even the street vendors who were selling me fake stuff were friendly!!!

I learned that getting on a train or bus and visiting small towns/villages was much better than staying in a big town where life was bustling. In one small town in Italy I ran into a family owned bar and ended up playing around on a piano while the kids were jumping around having a blast.

Interacting with the people you meet is the most rewarding. It isn't just the great museums or magnificent castles that you'll see, but the wonderful people you'll run into along the way.

I will stop before I get myself depressed from not being able to do it all over again!!!

I have not been outside Europe myself, I've been to Germany and Spain but that is it for countries abroad. Within the UK, I've been to Bristol, Exeter, London, Birmingham, Manchester to name a few cities. Would definitely like to travel more Smile

Italyx2 Switzerland turkeyx3 and Portugal.

My favorite is probably the second time I went to Italy I spent 5 days in Rome, Which was amazing fun for a history buff like me.

I also saw France from the window of a bus and one petrol station out in the country if that counts.

I'm not all that well travelled and when I have travelled, it's mainly been with work or school.

I went to France (Disneyland) with school a couple of times and then Russia on a school exchange.
Work has taken me to Germany and Australia (and then France later this month).
Oh and I went to Spain for one night as my boyfriend's +1 on a work thing.

Australia was my favourite - although I didn't see a single (live) kangaroo.
