Four musicians play "Bolero" on one cello

I absolutely adore the music of Ravel but I really dislike "Bolero". I consider just a vulgar exercise in orchestration. (OK, you can disagree if you like) However, this is clever and funny.

I thought it was supposed to be vulgar, that that was kind of the point. All that naughty stuff leading up to the final (and irksomely anti-climactic) splash and all?

Not sure where I heard that, Londoner. I may have it mixed up with the Toccata from Symphony V that Widor definitely was tired of, but I think it is true of Ravel.

As for timing yourself to Bolero, methinks it taketh a bit of practice and maybe some expertise at reading an orchestral score.

Wooooo!!! i liked it sooo much, i imagine a lot of things when i hear Ravel's music, he was a genius xD
about the musicians i've always admired how they get to be in the tone with these string instruments.
