Why Germans don't play Scrabble
#1
Can you imagine what the German Scrabble dictionary would be like?

Of course, I had to look it up. The sign in saying that the store is a distributor of floor polishing machines. German kids must have a great time when it comes to spelling tests.

Oh there's already a spelling mistake in there.
It should be "Fußbodenschleifmaschinenverleih", not "Fussbodenschleifmaschinenverleih".
However, there is no capital ß. Too bad for people who insist on using caps lock.

I thought that was just a convention used by those who do not have the German letter available.

The Germans never play scrabble because the English are sore afraid that ATTENTION might lose to ACHTUNG and SNEEZE to GESUNDHEIT.

I would love to play "backpfeifengesicht." There was something through buzzfeed about 30 awesome words in other languages that need to be present in English. That one it said meant a face that cries out to be hit.
