Trump or Hillary as President, who else is petrified?
Confuzzled4 Wrote:When it's shown that the entire election process was corrupt, how can any Sanders supporter be expected to vote for Hillary? To vote for her is to perpetuate the same issues.

Hilary has the 1 percent on her side. And the 1 percent hates bernie. This does not sound like it is going to end well.

Just exactly how is acting like a bunch of high schoolers going to help? The disruption at the convention needs to stop.

Somewhere along the line during this recent primary season we seem to have forgotten that respect and order are fundamentals of our political process. We have let Trump and his name calling set the model and that is wrong. Bernie Sanders is an experienced and able politician. He can continue to work toward his goals if his supporters will let him. Giving his cause a bad name with bad behavior is not the way to allow Sanders to work.

It is the way that we can handle differences that sets this country apart from others. Churchill was right in saying that "democracy is a very bad system. It just happens to be the best one we have." Now for goodness sake folks, let's get together and make it work.

I don't see how anyone who really believed in what Bernie was saying would want to risk Trump winning. His speech was scary. Even Bernie Sanders understands that, he's not trying to fight Clinton anymore because he realizes there is a larger enemy. He could bitch and moan about her, but he's not. And his supporters should understand why he is doing that. At least Hilary and the dems are sane. That's what I'm saying - that party needs to put some egos aside and make some big compromises inside itself.

I'm not trying to say how people should vote - as a third party member I hate when people pull that on me. And I'm not talking to third party members either- I'm talking to the democrats that risk splitting their party. We got to look at what's in front of us and which is the actual terrifying option. If some of the dems are pissed then hey, put in the one that's less likely to drive us off a cliff for right now, and over the next few years talk with third parties, get third parties into local offices, and take the political revolution seriously.

A protest vote for a third party candidate isn't going to magically get them into office, and even if it did, look at what the republicans did with Obama. Jill Stein would have to have dictatorial powers to get past the two major parties. Third party members know that, it's bottom up, not top down. And if angry democrats only want to vote third party or write Bernie in when they are upset during a presidential election, they got to learn that's not how it's going to work.

And you know Trump is jerking off to all this because a divided democrat party makes it all the easier for him to win. That's why he's fanning the flames, not because he cares about the dnc scandal or thinks Bernie is better than Hilary.

As I'm writing this I'm listening to Bernie's speech - think of Trump having the power to elect a Supreme Court justice. Fuck man.

To say that the outrage among Sanders supporters is high school antics is to misunderstand the important of fair elections. Clinton is a puppet of large corporations: her paid speeches to Goldman-Sachs was called by a speech goer as a rousing cheer, donations from hedge fund managers and large media, support for trade deals that favor big business, support for a bankruptcy bill that favored large banks, ad infinitum. Clinton was anointed the nominee years ago, and that is not the mark of a free society. Trump on the other hand offers racism, xenophobia, an ill temper, and a gross disillusionment in terms of political negotiations. This is why I made the post, the future of America is grim no matter who gets picked. The only thing I am sure of, is that the next president will be ill equipped to handle the issues in the Middle East, and our country will suffer at the inept hands of our next leader.

After a decade and a half, I've become disenchanted with the notion of voting, and not just because of the candidates.

Maybe it works better in other nations which "aren't the best democracy money can buy."

I was playing Final Fantasy VIII a while ago and there was a scene where this sorceress, Edea, was giving some inaugural speech (I think she took over some country but not sure; I wasn't really paying attention) where called the crowd 'lowlives' and criticised them for cheering on the woman they had despised for generations. I could really see Hilary giving such a speech, if she wins (which I hope she does or, rather, I hope Trump doesn't win). Edea for president!

At what point, JohnMusic? Do you think all of those Republican rivals connived to lead to this?

(Walks away with tongue in cheek.)
