Trump or Hillary as President, who else is petrified?
#71
People dislike Hillary because she's got the same "dirty politician" vibe as everybody else. She's involved in scandals. She's being investigated by the FBI. She's bought and paid for by big corporations.

I personally would never vote for her because she votes to censor video games for "violence" and also votes against net neutrality, which she has to because she's already been purchased by Time Warner. They'd love to have the Internet tiered and charge the same people who escaped the cable racket by using streaming services like Netflix and Hulu more money to use those services. This is despite the fact that the US already has some of the worst internet and cell phone service (paired with higher prices) of the first world countries.

People like Bernie because he's honest and seems like he's actually a good person. I personally am ready for change. I want someone who is sincere and who wants to help the little guy in office, not just another rich out-of-touch career politician. We won't see that kind of change until we get someone who's not dependent on big money to be in that spot.

I think there's no doubt about it. The news ticker would have never interrupted "The Bachelorette" otherwise.

Drum roll....

My gal has clinched the nomination. Yay!

Time to start getting along. Woot!

JohnMusic, I have actually considered that Trump might get the nomination and then walk away from it. He is vain enough, for sure.

I do think that Hillary will do a good job. No, she is not perfect at all, but she is serious and she knows what is at stake.
I bid NO Trump!

If Clinton isn't our next president I will be very surprised. I base this on the observation that we don't live in a Republic (let alone a democracy). We live in an oligarchy masquerading as a Constitutional Republic. It isn't who votes that counts, its who counts the votes... and who can count the votes, or re-count them if need be, when they're all just bits and bites in a data stream? We're given the President THEY (not we) need. If it also works out that this helps nurture the illusion of participatory politics, so much the better.

But I agree with Frank Zappa who once said,

Actually Mr Zappa had a lot of cool things to say. Since I quote him in my sigline, I might as well post a few more of his one liner's just for yucks. Most young people have never heard of him...

Imagine the shit storm that would cause with his followers. At this point the momentum and the people behind him and the stuff he's stirred up and brought out during his campaign is just as frightening as the idea that Trump is actually serious and could win.

MikeW, I hope you know that Frank Zappa and Daniel Schoor the reporter were buddies. That must have been quite a couple of beers.
I bid NO Trump!
