Not a date, not a hook-up, something in between?

It's certainly a new experience for me, having it one off like that with no emotional attachment! Usually I can't separate my emotions from sexual desires, i.e.

I can't separate my emotions from sex at all, I tried a couple of 'one night stands' and they really affected me for weeks. I don't know how people do it.

I've had several different experiences like this. When I have tried one-off hook ups, I either have no desire to see the guy again and I'm happy I got off, I have no desire to see them again and I didn't really like the guy, or the few times when I can't separate my emotions and I was very affected by my one night stand and started developing feelings, only to have it lead nowhere.

It's such a difficult situation. I am always just trying my best to do what another poster said, just lighten up, stop overthinking, and try to enjoy sex.
