Thanks for posting this news, Yar. It seems to signify some progress, but it's a pity that the benefits will not extend to health cover ... damn the DoMA :mad:

Still, I'm pleased to see that you and your fellow countrymen and women have been able to see a small step forwards. May the fairness snowball gather momentum Xyxthumbs

Its obviously a step forwards, however the Defence of Marriage act means that the benefits that could be offered are strictly limited and certainly could not include health benefits which, obviously, are the most important benefits. It has also been suggested that the announcement was simply created to diffuse criticism of a recent Department of Justice brief to the Supreme Court regarding a constitutional challenge to to the Defence of Marriage Act.
