One plus side of this pandemic is that so many performers, artists, museums, tour guides, and other cultural organizations have moved their content online, making it so much more accessible for many people. The month of June marks Pride Month here, and I'm curious if any of you are planning to attend any virtual Pride events / lectures / tours / parties.Â
It might be cool to have a list of things that are going on for people who are looking for ways to connect, reflect, and celebrate this year. I wanted to share the ones that seem most interesting to me, and also just have a list in one place for my own reference.Â

Queer Britannia: An LGBT tour of the V&A with Dan Vo - $10 event on June 14th at 2pm Eastern time.Â
"The V&A (Victoria and Albert) is the world’s leading museum of art and design, housing a collection of over 2.3 million objects that span over 5,000 years of human creativity. Its most popular blockbuster exhibitions have all been decidedly queer: "David Bowie Is," "Chrisian Dior: Designer of Dreams," "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty." The museum has been called the most romantic in the UK. Join award-winning tour guide Dan Vo as he turns his eye to queer love on a tour of the extensive collections: furniture, fashion, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, theatre and performance. The collection boasts such items as a hand-crafted fig leaf created for the Statue of David on the orders of Queen Victoria and the touring wardrobe of Aussie-Brit singer Kylie Minogue. And Sir Elton John’s name adorns the photography gallery. Flitting from a camp pink sequinned codpiece with matching gimp mask to an intimate portrait miniature worn close to the royal bosom, the tour will reveal some fabulous treasures from an extraordinary collection that is altogether so very British, yet simultaneously international, with an influence that reaches beyond borders."

BLACK, GAY, stuck at home: Looking for Langston & Tongues Untied - a free event and chat on June 5th at 9pm Eastern Time
"Our next screening will be a double feature of Isaac Julien's "Looking for Langston" and Marlon Riggs' "Tongues Untied" - both released in 1989.
Artistically envisioned and lovingly done, LOOKING FOR LANGSTON is an exploration of the life and consequences of late African-American poet Langston Hughes. It is impossible to tell Hughes' story without delving into the social atmosphere in which he thrived. The Harlem Renaissance was in full swing when Hughes found his voice. He represented the unabashed energy of the Cotton Club and the emerging tone of beat poetry. Filmmaker Isaac Julien fuses together a multitude of images to create a patchwork of impressions about the changing gay culture.
TONGUES UNTIED is a documentary and collection of personal stories about the intersectional experiences of living in the US as a Black, gay man. It features the poetry of Essex Hemphill, interviews, and personal reflections. The film discusses the Black, gay communities and cultures of San Francisco, New York, and coming out in the South. It aims to undo the silencing of Black, gay voices. Tongues Untied offers a poetic portrait of the survival, community making, mourning, and activism within the context of the AIDS epidemic."Register Here:Â https://www.eventbrite.com/e/black-gay-s...erelexpmlt
