In Australia this weekend there is a story to be aired about a Mother and Son who are now Mother and Daughter, a truly unique situation and one which holds my attention.

I have found some news online and once 60 mins puts the story online, I will add the link to that.

Interesting, to say the least.

I can certainly empathize with trans people; I can only imagine the difficulties they have to face on a daily basis. We might even share some of the same issues as far as discrimination and such, but at the same time I don't feel any automatic kinship towards them. I feel there's a very distinct line between having same-sex attraction and being transgendered. All said, I probably know as much about what it means to be trans as the average open-minded heterosexual person.

To paraphrase Gus Portokalos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, we may all be fruit, but the difference is apples and oranges.

I would take it more seriously if two of the quotes hadn't come from two of the most notoriously unreliable sources. "The Sun" belongs to the gutter, sensationalist press as does "The Daily Mail" that was quite recently branded by Wikipedia as the most unreliable source of news.
