Mass at a nudist camp

A priest celebrated the Sunday service in a nudist camp.
He was questioned at the end of the Mass:

"What was your impression of being in front of five hundred totally naked people?"

"I was worried," he confessed.

"Why ?"

"I was wondering where they were going to find the money at the time of the quest."

The 'quest'??? That sounds like a poor translation from the French 'quête' to me. I've never heard it called that, However at the time of 'collection' might be more idiomatic?
Has anyone else heard that part of a service called a 'quest'???
