[SIZE="4"]I am not a follower but the BBC is plugging the UK's entry and asking if the UK has a chance this year with Lucie Jones (who is Lucie Jones?) "singing" (in the parlance of today that means "screaming") a power ballad "Never give up on you".
No, in my opinion the UK will probably end up once again with "nul points". Let's admit it, the ESC has never come up with a lasting song. You might be able to remember some of the winners but they have never entered in to the standard repertory.
Well, the result must have come as a surprise for many; a gentle, understated ballad won. I hope against hope that this might mean the demise of the fashion for screaming banshees belting out their wretched power ballads. Next years contest might be worth looking at.

hah, what a show. Yeah, its all a show. its fake. the votes, everything. they dont vote for the songs, they vote for the countries they like, belgium would vote for the netherlands, the netherlands would vote for belgium, why ? because they are next to each other. I used to follow ESC cuz i really liked it, but the last few years i didnt really follow it.
I just heard the song from portugal which was the winner, and I already regret i listened to it, looks like I didn't miss anything last few years.
