Sagittarius
These shots come from a visit I made in 2002 ans "The Treasury" is the first sight you get of Petra when you come to the end of the "siq", the gorge you have to walk through to reach the city. I got up very early to take these shots and was the first person there that morning before the hordes of tourists descended. I have to admit, the first sight is quite breathtaking.
Lastly, that same night I took a tour of the city. The guide was extremely good and told everyone that the only way to enjoy the vitit was to be in silence; no talking, no mobile 'phones., just silence.
The lenght of the "siq" was illuminated by thousands of candles and the open space in front of the Treasury was filled with them also. I tried to take a photo but with disasterous results.
