i dont really know how the ad things work, but i presume its a you only get money if that link is clicked and something is bought, so i mean so could you not get abnenrs for more popular sites as suggested like amazon, play.com m&m direct ect, wirth an email, i constantly buy from there shops and say its a gay forum and they will jump at the chance Smile we have a good fashon sence, or what about a kind of online fund raiser, i dont have a clue what like but im sure a few people on here must have ideas Smile

Amazon is a great system. Between 5% and 7.5% of the sales go to the site owner with no increase in price to the customer. It's a no-brainer.

Thanks to all those who have helped support this site and for those who do not have any extra money, that's ok too, please know that we all have been there at one time or another in our lives. Thanks andy for letting me be a part of the site, Jim

kitschcamp Wrote:Not easy, is it? I run forums for something completely different. Affiliate marketing is difficult to get to pay. Amazon works well, but the likes of Commission Junction, etc, are difficult to monetise. The one that works best for us is Google Adsense. Is that an option for you?

I used to run Adsense in the past but even on a busy site with lots of traffic it only brought in a couple of pounds (under £5) each payout! Cry

Hi Joseph, it uses Paypal so needs either a debit/credit card or a Paypal account.

Oh my... look what's appeared up there! hehe I've created a new store with my favourite gay movies at Amazon and there's also a general banner.

Robertson: I've also added Play.com and M&M banners! Confusedmile:

Sure you're talking about Google Adsense? They only payout once your account has $100 in it, so they would never pay out £5.

How long did you give it? It takes a while for the 'bots to index the site properly and serve good adverts. I'd say it took us about 6 months before we started to get worthwhile returns.

Few months but the 'gay orientated' ads tend not to pay too well for their keywords unfortunately. Is your forum gay themed?

No, it's poultry related. We're typically hitting between $3 and $5 a day with most clicks getting between $0.10 and $0.30. If the "wrong" type of advertisers are hitting you, you can block them and try and get higher quality ones.

That's quite good... so you probably just hit the $100 payout threshold each month! Another problem is that the gay themed ads look really tacky with dating site banners (the only ones that pay relatively well) so not really an option.
