I guess I am old enough now to have lived "gay history" instead of just reading about it 
- and am saddened to learn of Carl Bean's passing yesterday. He was an activist and brave man and made his mark on the fight for equality and recognition for LGBT people. His song (of which I still have the 12" single in my collection) filled the dance floor and also broke alot of barriers. He was also the inspiration for Lady Gaga's Born This Way.Â
