As it happens one of my best friends (English) is gay and has family in the Bahamas, so I've often seen pictures and heard of your place, but he's not openly gay either, so I guess it's something he didn't want to tell his family in Nassau.
Actually, we have over seven (700) hundred Islands and cays, Most of them are inhabitable keys. However the keys are for sale, and can be made habitable., providing you have enough money to make it happen. And, yes, the sands are made up of refined coral and limestone, (due to years of evolution and time). The touch and feel of the sands are sublime; you can play in it for eternity.
I would love to make the UK, my new home. I love the accents and culture. However, I hear the rainy weather is criminal, lol.
yeah your friend would be wise to keep his secret from most Bahamians, and his family. Bahamian families can be cruel when excommunicating their gay family members. It is truly quite sad, that one cannot be tolerated or accepted for who you are, in your own hometown.
