That makes me want to cry. I hope those things don't happen there as much as i'm thinking they do. I'm from the rural south so of course it happens alot here. Growing up I was encouraged to learn how to fight the first time I put my hands on my hips. My mother and older cousins were for sure I was gay at the time but they took the precautions when I was younger and I'm glad they did. Of course here I'm not I don't have to worry about being thrown out of some place so violently cause that is extemely frowned upon and against law no matter who you are but the south does have it's occasional assholes and lunatics who I've had to fight for more reasons than one (if you catch my drift.). "Homophobe" means I'm not gay, my girl won't have anal sex by the way I'm single around here lol.
