I now live by myself and i was not willing to pay the £70 odd quid to have broadband reconnected and have to pay for a phone line i neither want nor need after flat mates left. And my dongel dont work anymore for some reason, maybe as its warranty ran out a few days before i retrieved it from the drawer to use it!!

Why have i got no friends and why did i have to re write my profile Sad

I will try get on more often especially now that GS has had such a big change!!

Bob is an old fashioned term for a shilling (from pre-decimlaisation. Before 1971 really). A pound was 20 shillings, a shilling was 12 pennies and a penny was 4 farthings. Post decimalisation a shilling was with 5 new pence. The old coins were still in circulation until the early 80s because the new 5p and 10p coins were the same size as the old 1 and 2 bob (shilling) coins.

You also wouldn't have used it with an indefinite article (such as "some") but with a definite quantity. "That's two bob".

Exotic?! To me that means warm and beautiful. It is bloody cold here most of the time.

We do?! There are world cup images on Pepsi cans, the TV is full of it, as is the internet. You just can't get away from it. There are even sweepstakes running in our office. (I drew South Korea... I don't think I'm going to win any money)
