Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
#11
I think it's not only me. I mean, all sorts of awful things happen to me during winter and I barely have those fluttering happy moments..

Wow, that would suck to have that. Evenmore so in Western Washington, though I think Mom has it a little, Like, The summer months are usually the only REALLY NICE times that we have. I would not trade it for the world though.

It took me several years before I actually realised that I might be suffering from SAD, then another 2 years before the doctor would confirm it.

Cutieboy - it could be your ex suffers, I guess he may realise that one day?

Slipknot - maybe see a doctor and ask about if it could be because a doctor will not be able to diagnose until they have seen the cycle of depression, then they may be able to give advice and help.

Fenris - I personally try all sorts of things, but its the light therapy and medication that brings the results for me. I know others who use omega oils with great effect, but it did nothing for me.

aaron - it sounds possible, keep it in mind and the connection with mood and seasons may seem clearer

I´ve heard a lot about omega oils .. but I think they don´t work right against this kind of sickness ... It takes time to find out what works against. I remember the first 2 Years i had Fibromyalgia.. nobody knows what it is, nobody know what works against it. But for me it was to late as they known what it is. After 3 Years its chronic... and in April -after 22 Years - this year a specialist has said that he can´t do something against it - I had to take morphine and I had to live with... so I do. The trick is to find out how you can live with it.... and I think its the same with SAD...

There are parts of the world where really nice weather is measured in weeks not months, trust me.

I´ve found what I sought for some days ....

Rosemary wine ... ( Herba rosmarinus off. )

1 Liter White Wine
2 Handful Rosemary ( don´t know if my translator is right so buy it by the lat. name in a drugstore )

Fill it in an high closable glass bottle, close and shake
set it on a warm place ... near a sunny window, heater .. whatever
let it stand 14 days... shake it some times a day ... then strain it through a coffee filter

drink 5 - 10 cl a day ... not more and not at night...

It affects the nerves, blood circulation and blood pressure from similar irregularities and it has a very positive effekt on SAD....
