I think Daft Punk could count as a lot of things - Disco, Techno, House...

Electronic music goes far beyond just the label of Techno. There is Electronic music (which I personally class more as home listening) and Dance music (which I personally class as club AND home listening). These are the main genres.

There are several sub genres, including: House, Trance, Breakbeat, Down-tempo, Techno, Experimental, Garage, Old Skool.

Several cross-genres, including: Chilled House, Ambient Drum n Bass, Tech-House, Orchestral/Classical Breakbeat.

Several sub-sub genres, including...

House; Acid, Deep, Funky
Trance: Hard, Vocal, Euphoric
Breakbeat: Jungle, Drum n Bass, Nu Skool Breaks
Down-tempo: Ambient, Drone, Trip-hop, Chillout

That barely scratches the surface.

Electronic music is just so vast and complex you could never cover it all.
