What's the forum's role in your life? Why do you use it?
Does it have an important role? Why?
Is it not too much important otherwise? Is it just a place to have fun only? Why?

For me its a nice place to talk to other gay people about things besides sex And, of course, talk about sex!

I also like helping people, and I get a chance to give out advice on here to people in similar situations as I have been in over the years.

It's just a place for me to chat in. I'm too busy to really go out with friends all the time, so it's nice to be able to pop in, respond to a post, and then come back in few hours to possibly respond.

Just to chat and have fun with other gay guys, to give and receive advice on issues, and somewhere I can post openly without being prejudiced against.

Why did I join here... not that you asked it but... I got a link to here from another forum - a bodybuilding forum - where one mod didn't appreciate gay related chat - who tbh, he was being pretty hippocritical (i never know how to spell that), saying this was a bb forum not a place to discuss gay / sex issues... although there was a section dedicated to sex... yeh, really clever comment he made there then!! After telling me that this site, among others was only a google search away, I actually went and looked at them all, and I preferred the layout here. vBulletin forums I find are the most user friendly.. the admin of the bb site didn't mind tho!! Hell, he even said I could post gay porn links providing it didn't break forum rules and kept them in the gay thread that had been started. That site has closed down now.. shame but the admin has opened up another tho in its place... better hosting services or summat.

I use GS when i am bored which apparently is very often and also like to see what other people saying opinions/views and advice. Also being a moderator i like checking it regularly.
However gayspeak can be depressing sometimes especially when guys signing up just to ask for advice (which i happily give when i can) and a good % of them are not in good terms with their sexuality or other issues about life.

i just use it to say whatever i want...whenever. i like it lol!

Aye, we need more members with better staying power!

i wanted to find a nice friendly gay youth-ish forum. i tried gay youth forum and they took the piece. so rude! not welcoming at all, and then they rid themselves of my account, for no apparent reason. i get that a lot. lol, but this place is accepting and friendly. people arent competitive and we can talk about things sensibly. love it.

but... i would like more people on here, yes. how about you create some sort of banner people can stick places. display pictures for people t use on instant messagin or just encourage people to advertise. i created my sig for my youtube account and my website zap (which by the way drastically needs some action as well so id appreaciate it if some of you could come join my forum! lol)

I think staying power is important in a good forum and I believe that those of us who stick around will be all the better for it.

As for advertising - I'm up for that! I could plug this forum around the place and hope we get some decent members

I wanted somewhere to be in contact with gay people who could give me the last encouragement to come out, as i'd never been in touch with gays this was just the last lil' thing i needed... mile: I discovered how different we are and how far we are from stereotypes, i've heard stories and made some friends, also given my minimal piece of advice to some of them and also manifested my anger (blind anger) to the world...

some of you guys, dont you sign up here cos you feel uncomfortable with 'real' contact with gay community? I hope it doesnt happen to me =S
