My dear Friends,
I write with open heart and open mind. Believe me, some of your stories move me to tears, others, only a few, make me feel frustrated because I cannot reach out and help you. Let's face it, being GAY in the 21st Century is sometimes no easier than it has been for centuries; some are still made to feel like outcasts from society; tragedies occur when families reject loved ones because of their sexuality. No life is not easy.

But has anybody got an easy life, was life designed to be easy? I do not think so.

You are GAY, I do not know or care how old you are. But being GAY and lonely is not unique to the homosexual community. There are millions of very lonely and desperate straight people too. So just because you are GAY do not think that you have a monopoly on sympathy. Relationships, friendships and happiness rarely happen because they are planned. The vast majority of good relationships develop as the result of chance meetings and being at the right place at the right time. Come on, I can use clichés all day and night; but it does not make things better.

A little advice if I may:

Do not be jealous - it exhausts your emotions.

Be patient, do not rush into things you might regret.

Love for love's sake and enjoy being together.

You will know the instant you meet when you have met the right one for you.
(Lust is one thing, love is another)

I am a middle aged GAY man. All the people I have met in my life have treated me like a Father who can help with problems and advice. Because I understand I feel it is my gift back to the world to help when I can. Please my Friends, be happy. Love life and each other.

Blessings to you all,

Love from

Graham (my real name)

Hello All,

New myself, felt right in chiming in on this one, but nothing to contribute that hasn't already been said. Well said indeed.

this is the weirdest thread ever. the first part, i thought was a sarcasm towards the struggles of being gay, but at the middle to the end, i'm impressed. it moved me. and it motivated me, to say the least. thank you.... i love this post...
