Very cool to see the Nena video......I always loved them back in the 80s. I always wanted them to be a bigger success here, but "99 Luftballons" was the only single to be a hit here, it got to #2 on our Hot 100 pop charts.


In 1998 rapper John Forté released his debut single "99 (Flash The Message)" which sampled the music of "99 Luftballons" and featured a female singer singing different lyrics in the style of the opening of Nena's song.

Video is kinda weird, but it was cool to be reminded of the song again after all those years.
