Scouting for Girls - She's so lovely
in reply to PA's question... I also listen to pretty much everything from WW2 - today... I grew up listening to Capital Gold (60s-80s radio station)... so much so that when I was a toddler in my buggy down the shops... I sang House of the Rising Sun by The Animals at the top of my voice... I sooo wouldn't DARE do that now lol.
Today.. it's mostly the new stuff I listen to but I will still stick on an old CD from time to time... can't beat the classics.
I think the music back then was possibly more heartfelt... there are too many manufactured bands today with songs written for them rather than by them... not the case with all I know... some really good artists today coming out with their own lyrical masterpieces.
AS for peer pressure to listen to certain genres... that's not my case at all... although you can see it with other people. I listen to stuff that I like... whatever genre it is (in fact.. half the time I couldn't tell you what genre it is in, I just like the tune!) and steer clear of anything I don't even if EVERYONE else is raving about it (Amy Winehouse for example!! Can't stand her... I would say Linkin Park too, but they've been growing on me lately!).
