Trying to date
#1
I'm in University and i wanted to start dating. I'm unsure how to go about this. Last year i joined a few clubs that i was interested in. I feel that many people don't know that i am gay, i don't act like the stereotypical gay person. I'm always open about it, but it doesn't come up a lot. Does anyone have any advice on how to go about dating?

well you have to meet someone who is gay or open to same sex dating/relationship first and that is kinda hard. i guess the best first move you can do is ask for their cellphone number.

You can try to join GLBT organizations at your school. You don't have to be out to join these organization as many of them have private meeting. And in the organization you don't have to look for a date either. Just make more gay friends then eventually what should come will come.
Other than that, you can try online dating site or grindr. I know many people on the internet are looking for hooking up. However, there are people who are looking for a long term dating relationship as well.
Try gay clubs and bars, not a perfect environment to meet a date but I am sure they are worth to try ( at least you can have some fun while you are there ).

One more tip from my personal experience. Never look too hard for a date, just enjoy your life eventually it will come for you.

Well believe it or not apps on smartphones work wonders. Do you have an android phone or iphone? After breaking up with my bf I've been at clubs, social clubs, even websites to look for a date, but for a year I found no one until one day I decided to download a gay app on my smartphone. Within a month I went on 4 dates and I finally found mr right. Many people on app look for hookups but there are a fair number of them that wants a LTR. The reason why I say apps work its because its like a MSN, AIM with profile pics you just chat with whoever interests you its also proximity based so you dont have to worry about how far that person is.

I agree with Dimdim's comment. These days your best bet would be to go through apps like Grindr or Boysahoy. And is certainly a lot cheaper than subscribing to online date sites or going to clubs. You can chat and get to know other guys without necessarily meeting them and then if you both feel comfortable in arranging a date with each other you then have a fair idea of what your dates is all about.
