Not "Meathead" any more. While I hear he does not care for it, he is referred to respectfully as Mr. Reiner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Reiner Hollywood power-broker Mr. Rob Reiner has many successful productions to his credit, and is a MAJOR Beach Boys fan which locks it for me! Film Enter Laughing – Actor (1967) Halls of Anger – Actor (1969) Summertree – Actor (1971) Fire Sale – Actor (1977) This Is Spinal Tap – Actor, Director, Song-Writer (1984) The Sure Thing – Director (1985) Stand by Me – Director (1986) The Princess Bride – Director (1987) Throw Momma from the Train – Actor (1987) When Harry Met Sally... – Director (1989) Postcards from the Edge – Actor (1990) Misery – Director (1990) A Few Good Men – Director (1992) Sleepless In Seattle – Actor (1993) North – Director (1994) Bullets Over Broadway – Actor (1994) The American President – Director (1995) Bye Bye Love – Actor (1995) Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie - Executive Producer (1995) Ghosts of Mississippi – Director (1996) The First Wives Club Actor (1996) Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie - Producer (1997) Primary Colors – Actor (1998) EDtv – Actor (1999) The Story of Us – Director (1999) Alex & Emma – Director (2003) Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star - Actor (2003) Rumor Has It... - Director (2005) Everyone's Hero - Voice Actor (2006) The Bucket List – Director (2007) Flipped – Director, Producer, Screenplay (2010) Summer at Dog Dave's – Director (2012) Television Batman - Delivery Boy (1967) The Smothers Brothers – Writer (1967) The Andy Griffith Show – Copyboy (1967) Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. – hippie (1969) The Beverly Hillbillies - Jethro's College protester friend (1969) The Partridge Family – Snake (1971) The Rockford Files – Larry 'King' Sturtevant (1974) The Odd Couple (TV series) - Sheldn, Myrna's boyfriend (no 'o' as stated many times in the show) (1974) All in the Family – Michael Stivic (1971–1978) Free Country – Joseph Bresner (1978) Archie Bunker's Place – Michael Stivic (1979) Saturday Night Live – Himself (1975) The $10,000 Pyramid – Guest as himself on debut week (1973) Happy Days – Cowrote the first episode (1974) Likely Stories, Vol. 1 – Director (1981) It's Garry Shandling's Show – Appeared several times as himself, helping Garry to 'advance the plot' (1986–1990) Morton & Hayes – Narrator (1991) The Larry Sanders Show – Cameo playing himself in several episodes including Doubt Of The Benefit[when?] Curb Your Enthusiasm – Season 2, Episode 5 (as himself) (2001) The Simpsons – Guest-starred as himself in "Million Dollar Abie" (2006) Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip – Guest-starred as himself (2006) Hannah Montana – Guest-starred as himself (2009) Wizards of Waverly Place – Guest-starred as himself (2009) 30 Rock – Guest-starred as himself (2010) Real Time With Bill Maher – Guest (2010) So, why the list and the blue highlights? Who do you think Mr. Rob Reiner does NOT know in entertainment? Would you like a list his father's accomplishments, Carl Reiner? It is longer than Mr. Rob Reiners. He is arguably the most powerful individual in Hollywood. Mr. Rob Reiner grew up with his father's best friend at their kitchen table - Norman Lear. When we say "Hollywood is the Entertainment Capitol," the emphasis is "CAPITOL." Washington D. C. comes to see us. Barry Obama was nowhere until Tom Hanks and Shirley MacLaine took him under their wing, and supported him for POTUS. And, how does this relate to me - RESPECT. Forget the gloss and glamor of Hollywood. It is a privilege to live in Southern California, and enjoy the occasional invite to a screening because my life partner is a gopher at a movie studio. More business's shut down here on Academy Awards night than on Christmas! We are a company town. Your company town! Archie Bunker or "Meathead?" You know it really doesn't matter.

Archie Bunker was a good character, but I preferred Edith Bunker.
Especially when she would say 'Oh' then pause then as the light of realization dawned 'Ohhhhhhh'. Eras: 1890's or 1990's

Bowyn Aerrow Wrote:Archie Bunker was a good character, but I preferred Edith Bunker. 'Edith Bunker' (actor Jean Stapleton) is a major star of the stage, and at the time moving to television for Norman Lear was considered a step down. Jean Stapleton had a political statement she wanted to make as Edith Bunker, and she did so emphatically. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Stapleton Another actor for Norman Lear did the same thing, the late Bea Arthur from Maude and The Golden Girls. Bea Arthur won Emmy Awards for both rolls, and a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in her Musical performance as Vera Charles in the original cast of Mame (1966). This posts strikes me personally because I received a thank you personally autographed with photo and a note from Bea Arthur while in high school for a letter I wrote complimenting her work. It is the only celebrity picture I have. It has seemed strange to me that only 22 miles away from my home up in Malibu, Bea Arthur, reportedly, visited frequently with her best friend Shirley MacLaine. Coincidentally, I know where the MacLaine home is, but I never went near, saw, or met either lady. It simply is not done. Between the paparazzi and the public, privacy is seriously respected in Southern California. So near, yet so far away. As an award, would you prefer an Oscar or an Emmy?
