But I wanted to let teens know that if you live in the USA it might be better to hold off on telling the 'rents until you're 18 (and preferably no longer need their financial support) as it's legal to send kids to teen gulags (google "teen gulags" if you haven't heard of them and "An American Gulag" is a good book on them), many of them religious in nature and very abusive & cult-like.
A friend of mine was sent to one (for exploring Wicca) and she came back totally brainwashed, and these centers require no licensing or scrutiny by the state (save for things like the kitchen) due to "religious exemptions" that exist. And even a few of these places that had been shut down due to like kids dying sometimes reopened in another country and accepted American kids--one boy escaped via raft back to the United States and the courts sent him back. And ironically these abusive places can get away with doing things that would get the parents sent to prison if they carried out such abuses themselves (instead of paying someone else to do it)! :mad:
