overestimate gay population vs eqality

I don't think you will ever find an accurate statistic of who's gay, bi etc, because it is not something that is objectively measurable. Any study trying to get hard data based on people giving honest responses to socially embarrasing questions

If anti-gay discrimination is wrong then it's still wrong no matter how few people it affects, though perhaps less of a priority in the grand scheme of things. I honestly believe that one of the most powerful prompts to change an individual's opinions on the subject is actually knowing a gay or lesbian person, so that the argument is not in the abstract it's about how, say, Joe should be treated. A less powerful prompt, but still significant, is knowing that statistically speaking very likely at least one person one knows is gay or lesbian. That is where statistics matter.

Percentages have never really worked for me in this respect, the only thing that has worked for me is that gay, lesbian, bi and trans exist are are not treated as equal to our peers even though we live in the same communities, pay the same taxes, have the same voting rights.

1% 10% or 20%...if we are paying the same we should be afforded the same rights as all tax paying citizens of our respective countries...if they don't want to give us our rights how can they honestly think it is fair to tax us the same?

If the rich are taxed more (or less depending on your point of view) should they have more (or fewer) rights?

I agree with all of you perecentage it doesnt have to do with our rights! Also i think we gonna increase as years go by as more and more people are getting out of the closet and scociaties being more and more open...

Oh and what about Middle East countries? The stats there will be 0,5% that mean that there are no gays in middle east?!
