What was it like? Sorry if you dont want to speak about it just, ive never known anyone which has gone through with it.

The ceremony is very short, approx 15-20 mins. The registrar says most of the stuff although you can include your own short vows. You can add a poetry reading if u want to. Then its the usual exchange and blessing of the rings.

Being in one felt no different to be honest than being in a normal long term relationship. The only benefit you get from one is being able to be called your partners next of kin.

The arguments became more frequent after I had mine, which in turn led to the split.

Ahh that sucks.. Hmm when did the split occur.. Is it messy like alot of divorces?

We split 25th September 2007..why I remember the date exactly I dont know.

It hasn't been that messy as i wasn't interested in claiming half of anything (that gets expensive with solicitors involved). The first part of the dissolution was granted end of last month by the court. Now have 6 weeks to apply for the final order then I can take back my surname and move on fully with my life.
