I haven't been here for that long so maybe I have the wrong idea - The thread doesn't specify what kinds of preferences to bring up. I'm ready to talk about the kind of person that I would personally be romantically attracted to, and virtually everyone here is speaking exclusively in terms of race. It's the first thing a lot of people are apparently thinking about when determining a mate and to me that's kind of shocking and quite messed up, really.
I can't agree that the ice cream analogy is fair. It would probably be more accurate to say that you'd buy a red toyota carolla over a blue one because you think the red toyota would get better gas mileage. It's totally okay to have a preference. All I'm saying is that the reasons given for preference are well . . . Anyway, I was in a particularly foul mood when I posted that so I'll shut up now lol.
