The first two Broadway Plays I saw were A Chorus Line and The Wiz...loved both of them enough to see them twice and also I at least liked the movies (the shows on stage are always much better)...My favorite numbers....
My favorite...Morales singing Nothing
I love the original Broadway Singer though....Priscilla Lopez....
from a Chrous Line...ONE...visually mesmerizing..again better on stage but the movie was good as well
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and from The Wiz.......
Lena Horne singing Beleive in Youself...great inspirational song
Diana Ross singing HOME but the original stage performance by Stephanie Mills is better...another great inspirational song
Cant You feel A Brand New Day...yet another great insirational song:biggrin: Yeah...I thought The Wz was inspirational...for me anyway...I loved this scene in the movie better than on stage
Jay Wrote:The Wiz used to scare me. A bit. Just a bit. Okay, more than a bit.
The painting people.
The subway monster.
Evillene, her slaves and factory.
But love the movie. Diana Ross was a bit over acting though.
LOL......I LOVE Diana Ross but you are right...she was overacting badly. I was embarrassed for her. The thing is...at the time she pretty much demanded to star in the movie and most people considered her too old for the part. I was lucky to see Stephanie Mills and she should have had the part.
I saw the Broadway play twice...once with the original cast and once with the touring company...the whole play is really inspirational for me because of it's message and actually inspires me to this day.
