14 Things Gay Guys Do NOT Want To Hear!!!
#11
southbiochem Wrote:I won't hear "you're too straight" or something but I do get the incesant comments about how is IMPOSSIBLE that I could be gay. Don't really know why.

and that bit "you can't know unless you've been with a girl" and I do have the perfect and logical answer: "dude, your body is giving me a boner, your girl's is not...THATs how I know"

MY response to this has always been "Then YOU cannot know YOU aren't gay unless you have had sex with another man".

They usually shut up and never bother me again.

I have a friend who has a variation on this concept. He used to send me picture messages with big tits to try and cheer me up. Since we had the discussion about my being gay, the last ones I got were photos of a nude Burt Reynolds. Now, I know he's primarily being a prankster and it makes me laugh enough to cheer me up, it also makes me want to vomit.

But it's become a running gag lately, too. He asked me why I didn't like it and I told him it's "because you can't really see anything anyway". I saw an antique sofa he's restoring and asked him if he's getting ready for a softcore porn shoot with Burt Reynolds. That sort of thing.

Maybe I'm just not sensitive enough :I

Girls, even my mama, says I gotsa nice body and that they'd want it and I think that's ultra flattering.

If girls ask me to go shopping I either say yes, no or are you paying?

I think the title should honestly be;
14 Things to never say to some gay guys

Also, I love lesbabes, more often than not they're hawt, whether they be pretty or "butch". So I don't know where that question comes from Hypnotized-smiley

I think the issue here is stereotyping in general. We're just as different from one another as we are from straight men, and some of us would really appreciate it if others would acknowledge that fact. If you happen to like fashion, shopping, hanging out with frumpy chicks, and whatever other stereotypes, that's fine and it doesn't bother me. But I like woodworking, I wear jeans and t-shirts, and the only females I hang out with are my daughter and her friends. I'm mostly just this guy, except I have a boyfriend. And there's a lot of us that fit a similar description.

I would say the only stereotypes that fit me are that I'm more open-minded than the average guy, I care about intellectual stimulation, I like to cook, and I have a boyfriend.

14 lol

Some of these really don't bother me, like #5, when my friends told me that in the past I knew they weren't trying to "compliment" me or whatnot, they were just surprised that I flew under their gaydar.

You missed one.
"I always knew you were gay!"

Really? Even before I did? Because I'm not a raging hetero with a loud mouth and several female-shaped notches on my bed post? Because there's no chance I may have actually been asexual? Even though I've never been with a girl OR a guy? You know me better than I know myself?
Not so much because these statements are insulting... They are just moronic attempts at socialising that are ultimately projection.

3 friends of mine know about my sexuality, and two of them are girls. Both of them said they had absolutely no idea I had a thing for guys. I didn't get offended, because I'm still in the closet and I wasn't really trying to show them or anybody else. The guy said the already thought I was into guys because of his "gaydar".

My mom told me the same thing once. I am scared, but it's not her fault. I see on the news on a regular basis what homophobes are capable of, so does she.
