I feel terrible.
#1
Hi guys, im so ashamed right now but here it goes. I went to doctor today because there were bumps around my anus, he told me that those ''bumps'' are actually warts(i know its.. disgusting.. just.. disgusting.). I feel terrible right now, i've looked it up a bit and it says there is a treatment where they burn the warts but i guess they cant do that since.. well its there. Have ANY of you had a problem like this? And did you cure the disease and what does the treatment include and how long did it take? I have an appointment at the dermatology next week but i just want to know if someone had this problem before.

Don't be ashamed. Shame never did anyone any good.

Condyloma Acuminata, anal warts, are a sexually transmitted disease. Don't have sex with anyone until you receive treatment. And get it treated as soon as possible because this condition can turn into a serious medical problem left to its own device. I'd expect a colonoscopy from a good doctor as well, so be prepared for that (they're nothing to be afraid of, but the preparation is...well...shitty).

Yes. It was many years ago but yes, they were removed and have not come back. There are different procedures for having them removed. Discuss your options with a proctologist and the success rates. Frankly it has been so long I don't remember exactly what was involved but it took several visits to the Dr. It wasn't horribly painful or anything. Just some slight discomfort.

(Adam) First of all, it's not disgusting or shameful - it's a medical condition, cause by a virus. Depending on the number, size and location of the warts, they can be treated with a topical medication, by a freezing technique, or by burning or surgical removal. The specialist will be able to explain your options and tell you which treatment is best in your case.

I have a close friend who had the same problem last year - his doctor used a topical medication, and it required several visits before they were gone completely.

No one is going to judge you, and you shouldn't put yourself down over this. It's a common problem, your doctor will have seen it many times before. I'm glad that you're smart enough to deal with it right away. Do what your doctor recommends, and it will be fine.

I just looked and there are little warts at the back of my throat too, i am so worried about this. I'm actually more worried about that maybe the doctor would understand that im gay and maybe he would even refuse to treat the disease.

(Adam) I'm sorry, I don't know what the attitude is toward being gay in your country. But women can get genital/anal warts too. Did your regular doctor ask you about your sexual behavior?

No actually he immediately started to list the things that might have cause this situation when he saw me mortified (like going to pool or sea). It wasn't that bad, i hope the next doctor will be good too.

Adam, are you a doctor or some sort of medical type? Or may be your were just raised by a nurse, as I was. We seem to have similar attitudes to situations like this.
I bid NO Trump!
