Most gay men seem to have a perfect body ?
#11
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and comes in all shapes and sizes (Thank god!)

If your going out on the "scene" then you will see lots of gay guys who are totally in love with themselves and their presentation. Now Im not saying thats wrong, I mean who doesn't like a bit of eye candy  But lets face it, who wants to live with someone who hogs the bathroom mirror more than you do Laugh

There are plenty of guys, both younger and older who like larger and older guys. Maybe you need to look in a different place, or choose a different night of the week to go out. (i.e. Not Old Compton St on a Friday/Saturday night!)

Love can appear from the most unexpected places. You just have to look.

So what are you waiting for......Cool

It's strange how good-looking people often worry more about their looks than others do. It may have to do with the fact that they have more to lose, should they suddenly turn ugly... It's a high maintenance thing... Time consuming.
We can all do stuff to look better, better clothing, skin care, eating properly, doing sport, but then it's all a question of how much (money and time) we're willing to or can afford to give to being as perfect as we can be. Sometimes it's just not worth the worry, the money, or the time.
I'd say the best reason to look one's best is for health reasons. It's a bit selfish, but good health has more charm than any illness, or mental instability.

LOL, just by the title of this thread I can already respond by pointing at myself. I object sir. No one has a perfect body. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. Body builders can lift weights forever be built and amazingly toned BUT they themselves dont think their perfect. You are simply underestimating your looks a common case.

If you spend years living with men, you will see they come in all shapes and sizes, as does what hangs between the thighs. Be happy with what you've got and what you get. It's the person inside the body that counts.

You are 43, so yeah you are surrounded by the young crowd. Many 40+ year old just don't do the scene becoming exhausted by the same old pick-up lines and tired sexual exploits, so most turn away fro the bar/club scene.

Unfortunately those who stick around tend to be a little to aggressively seeking 'young'.

As for body image, you need to go to bear clubs - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_%28gay_culture%29

Where hair and extra padding is appreciated by the discerning gay male.

I suspect you are going to the youth-clubs where twinks and jocks hang out, thus are missing out on the 'real men' who flock elsewhere.

Leather clubs also tend to have more mature and real men (body hair, padding, beards - you know, men.)

Gays tend to be heavily segregated in the big cities where there are a lot of specialized clubs/bars that specialize in tastes. Rural and one bar towns tend to be more homogenized and mixed.

Pish posh... there is nothing wrong with you.
You must find the beauty that others see in you .

Self acceptance is the key to perfection , confidence is very attractive.

I will not compare myself to anyone , trust me some day ,it's difficult enough just to be me.

I did go to several gay clubs around 14 years ago, Yes 14 years ago and at that time I had a friend who I went with.
But things went downhill from there as he died and I had an industrial accident and what with one thing or another I have been off work since then and walk with a limp.
The only good things I can see in myself is I am very caring and loving and considerate.
It is only within the last week that I had a major panic attack which I really thought that I was dying at the time and went to an emergency doctor who has given me anti anxiety tablets and it is since then that I have decided I have to pursue what I want in life and be happy for myself.
Being a very caring and considerate person I always think of others around me but I lack so much self confidence and low esteem but I am trying my upmost to go ahead and meet people now.
I am fed up being lonely and what with the low self confidence could be the reason for me starting this subject !

it depends on where you are going, I guess.
and also, nobody's perfect. if those men that you usually meet have perfect body, sometimes there's something not perfect in them. they just cover it with their confidences or even cockiness. or they might have a shitty personality that you don't want to deal with for every time that you spent your time with him.
everything is all about personality. and personality is a charm. if those men really care so much about their looks, they probably are covering something in them.
Idk, sometimes, I was attracted to a guy who's physically such a turn off but I adore his brain, confidence, and maturity.

Corsac Wrote:There are a large majority of gay men who don't have "the perfect body" too, it's just that they're often the ones that you have to look harder for. Being larger isn't an issue for some people, and theres even those that prefer a larger person. Anyway the perfect body is subject to an individuals preference in my opinion.

THAT'S ME! THAT'S ME! I like big guys regardless of what they look like. and big guys can't get any shorter in the future, right? lol

And if you watch too much gay porn you can become convinced that every other guy on the planet has a ten-inch penis, except you.

That's not the real world.

Look at ordinary guys in the street - none of us is perfect. Bighug

Very true @ monk

And another thing is, if a "maybe" partner just watch for a perfect body.... it is much to less for me. I´m much more as just a empty wrapping.
