Ah probably the same thing I had to do when I was self employed. You need to pay estimated taxes for your independant contracting job, that will keep you from owing so much in taxes, avoid fines... The fine might be that you owe the state a certain amount of tax.... I know that the Fed's is a $1,000 or more... Look up estimated taxes and see if that might be what you need. It sucks, because you pay your taxes quarterly. You also might want to claim mileage or any expenses for that job if at all possible... I had over $5,000 in claimed mileage in one year because it's usually $0.55 per mile, which that shit adds up quickly and can make a difference at the end of the year...
