Yeah it would equate to about 10k more than what I make now...
The only question I would not never know is how much I would enjoy working at the job. Instead of working at or for one institution I would working with closer to 60. I would be helping with handling help desk tickets coming from all the institutions, escalation, etc.
I'm pretty sure I stay on state retirement and so forth. On the other hand I don't think there is much harm in letting things go for another year either. I'll go ahead and discuss things over and apply for the position.
The other thing would be getting updated references. I would want to get at least of the folks I work with to be put down as a reference but I also don't want to strip up things which might cause problems for me. I mean I don't think anyone would be so bitter but I don't know if I would want to just go up to my supervisor and say hey I'm applying for another job can I use you as a reference lol. I don't think that would pan out so well, but having him and other current co-workers would beneficial.
