I just got home from work and my heart sunk when I read the news. He was such a nice guy and his music was always cheerful and happy, and far too young to be taken from us. RIP

Interesting fact. in 1966 there were 2 Davey Jones' who were rising to fame at the same time. Davey Jones and The Monkee's and Davey Jones and The Lower Third, the later named himself after an American Knife and became world renown in 1969 with the Apollo laning on the moon, the song of course was Space Oddity with David Bowie.

at one point the Monkeys had their own TV show and were saturating the radio with Monkey music. Part of their demise was that at least initially they might not have been able to play many instruments them selves. At least this was the rumor. At the time there was competition from many highly creative entertainers.

the pop culture matured and i think now we expect our entertainers to be hollow cords of wood who cant float in a warm bath tub. RIP.
